Matthew & Ashley got married on 12.27.2010. It was on a Monday, not on a weekend like most weddings. When Ashley and I met for the first time I immediately knew this wedding was going to be different in a good unique way! Matthew is in the Army, and is overseas quite a bit, Ashley explained he only had a short amount of time off, so with Christmas being so close the only day to say I do was that Monday. Ashley and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day at her maid of honors home in downtown Bakersfield. She wore red high-heels, and mentioned it would be neat to get a shoot of Matt and his guys doing their own version of ‘Abby road’. We got a lot of odd stares blocking traffic off but whatever it takes to get the shot! 🙂
They decided to do their ‘first look’ downtown and I gota say, these images were the definition of how a first look is supposed to look. The fact that they’re apart more than they’re together makes their love for one another shine in these photos. I admire the strength it must take to be in a long-distance relationship. The couple had their ceremony at the chic metro gallery also located downtown. They were surrounded by close family & friends , they danced the night away to Katy perry and the Beatles.Â
Matthew and Ashley, thank you for having me apart of your wedding day, you two are so perfect for each other, I can tell by the short time I spent photographing you two, I know  the future holds nothing but great things for you both. Matthew, thanks for serving our country, you’re a brave soul! Enjoy 🙂Â

There is a story behind this photo..lol this was Ashley’s made-of-honor, she got injured before the wedding and had to be carried up the stairs by the grooms-men for the cermony! I thought she had a great outlook on the situation 🙂

You did such a wonderful job and it was such a pleasure having you photograph our wedding. Maybe since we couldn’t do engagement pictures, Christmas pictures for this coming year?? We’ll have to keep in touch. Can’t wait to see the rest. =D
